Use Case 3 Automated test saves startup from email disaster

About the client

The start-up offers doctors a job portal for substitute assignments all over Germany, so that they can decide for themselves where and when they want to work. Potential users must first register on the site and introduce themselves in a short video call.

What happened?

The startup suddenly had problems with email delivery and no new customers could register on the portal. The external mail provider was over the mailing limit and the emails were no longer delivered.

How could such a mistake happen?

Unfortunately, the page was irregularly checked for errors. After the initial tests, the page was considered to be successful, as all functions were said to be running properly. But many errors only show up later in the course of use or when certain components in the function chain reach their capacity limits.

How difficult was the website testing for the TESTIFY team?

The error was found just a few minutes after the initial setup of the TESTIFY tests. In total, finding the error took about 45 minutes. With video monitoring and the corresponding screenshot, the start-up was able to react quickly and avert major damage. A manual user login, in contrast, would have been much more complicated.
